BOWSER
Sometimes fate plays a role and you just have to accept it… Bowzer came to us through another rescue. There was a foster Mom across the street from us. It wasn’t uncommon to see many different dogs going from her house to the car, and vice versa BUT, when you happen to be out front when she pulls up and what looks like a replica of your parent's dog Wyatt jumps out, your heart drops and you run over. After some digging, it turns out that Bowser was a sibling to Wyatt, from the same farm, same time frame same litter. Crazy! The only difference was at a year old, Wyatt knew one home, one family and unconditional love. Bowser, on the other hand, had been rehomed (between adoption and fostering) 13 times in his first year. To say this dog had some anxiety issues, would be an understatement, but we knew we could offer him what Wyatt was given and hoped we could repair the damage that was done to him. Bowser became part of our family and although he never overcame all of the anxiety or his absolute fear of men in baseball caps, he did very well. He formed a bond with the oldest daughter Deven, and she grew up with him by her side. This uncoordinated goofball kept us in tears and could tell one heck of a story when he wanted to. Bowzer was with us for just under 10 years when his body started to shut down. He became incontinent, lost his ability to stand, to walk, and to entertain. We hope in the 10 years we had you, we repaired some of the damage you sustained in your first year. Bowser Boy was truly the bestest boy!
