MORRIS

This sweet man was relinquished with four of his siblings when his owner passed away.   He was truly just a happy and simple soul.  He had hind-end weakness which caused him to walk like an ice skater and occasionally vestibular disease would hit him for hours at a time. As time passed, his list of illnesses increased and he completely lost feeling and movement in his backend, which was a factor of why he became incontinent.  Closer to the end, dementia became a factor and at times it felt like he could and did use it to his advantage for extra treats. He was the best alarm clock and never missed a 7:30 AM wake-up call… ever! Truth be told, Morris Borris could also be a bit of a messy guy overnight, so a special plastic laundry basket fitted with homemade sheets then placed on Kasey's bed worked wonders. Without Kasey being within smelling distance the screaming would start and we learned everything we could about cognitive dysfunction (dog dementia).   Even with all his ailments, it was easy to tell that he still was happy in life, but it was also just as easy to tell when he wasn’t.  We know it's hard to believe that you could miss something so much that was such an incredible amount of work and time but it is true. Oh, Morris man, we do miss you so!
