POPS
There are times when you happen to be at the right place at the right time and when Christine was At Pug Nation volunteering and picking up Deja, she just happened to hit that time and place on June 27th, 2022. While helping set up the Pug Nation annual fashion show, a relinquishment walked in the door. An older gentleman had passed away and his children were there to drop off his dog. He was a 17-year-old pug named Pops. He was a different-looking guy and you could tell there was so much confusion going on. He was a palliative care dog and without hesitation, we asked about adoption. He of course, would have to go through some testing and the five-day isolation to make sure he was as healthy as he could be. Not to mention a quick visit to the vet and a rabies shot, so Boon would have to wait for an all-clear from home. On July 1st we received a call that his health declined dramatically overnight and that it was best to say goodbye. We often wonder if he died of a broken heart.
