RUTHIE
Ruthie was a special lady and as long as she allowed you to love her at any given moment then it was ok. Unlike all the other Sanctuary babies, there was no real affection with Ruthie. She was only here for about a week when one of her eyes became swollen. A run to the vet confirmed pressure behind the eye and that it needed to be removed. She was a stiff old girl and didn’t appreciate being handled, didn’t have time for hugs and didn’t even think about any public displays of affection! Most of the time we addressed her as Aunt Ruth. She was very stiff with arthritis and spent a lot of the time looking at the floor. When no one was looking, and if it was your lucky day, she would spare you a kiss. It wasn’t much, but enough to let you know she was doing well. We had the honour of serving you for two years before your body stopped working and you became so very tired. I know you are not putting up with any tomfoolery on the other side.
