SADIE

Christine and Kasey headed South to meet up with Krista (from Pug Nation) who was meeting them in Boise with 3 babies….Sadie, Pixie, and Chevy. Sadie was a sweet little girl who was starting to decline with her mobility, only being able to take a few steps before no longer able to hold herself up due to a possible herniated disc higher in her back or neck.  Like so many of our others with weak back ends, she had to be expressed. Sadie was a very quiet girl, which was very different for us and was quite happy to sit in the middle of chaos and observe. We were so happy that she and Cosmo hit it off because having very similar conditions, she could be his life partner….  Fate, on the other hand, had a different plan and sadly that would not be the case.  After only being with us for a little over three months, we noticed that she was starting to have darker-coloured urine. At first, we thought it could be 2 things.  Being immobile, it could be a lack of water, we started giving Sadie IV fluids and got her into the vet to be tested for a UTI.  A urine sample revealed more than a UTI.   We were in disbelief to hear that she was in liver failure. It did not take long for her to become tired and out of sorts. We, along with Cosmo, walked her to the Rainbow Bridge.
